Styal battle to draw with Billinge

STYAL were made to work hard for a draw in Billinge’s first home game since gaining promotion.
The game started with the hosts taking the game to Styal and they hit the crossbar on 20 minutes.
Styal's attacks were limited and the half ended goalless.
Styal played with more tempo and quality after the break but a mix-up allowed Billinge an empty net for the lead.
Ten minutes later, Keith Maires’ corner was headed home by Warren Dickenson for his third of the season.
With 10 minutes remaining, Styal’s numerous attacks saw Dave Graham fire one in from the edge of the box.
However, with time running out, Brian Matthews lost possession and Billinge hit an equaliser to deny Styal the three points.
Styal will be disappointed not to have shut out the game but 2-2 was deemed a fair result.
